Arbeitslos
& collect
Useful Arbeitsloser (Jobless) is a series of furniture that reflects the life of its designer. The scaffolding resembles a life of a designer who lives in a foreign country in a way that it is always passed by, constructed and moved away without much attention, while being a necessary element in construction sites. The brass joints symbolize the weight of life and the act of screwing the joints is a part of a life to create comfort. While life becomes heavy and our space of living gets more spacious, the furniture we have around us is getting lighter and feels more indifferent. The form and structure of Useful Arbeitsloser (Jobless) is a story of nomadism and imperfect lives. Useful Living is a further development of Useful Arbeitsloser (Jobless). It has been influenced by classic Danish furniture,

STUDIO LEE SANGHYEOK is founded by Sanghyeok Lee (Jinju, South Korea, 1983) who studied at Design Academy Eindhoven. He is interested in how we live with things, what kind of things we make and what kind of relationship we make in the space. He lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
