& collect
A la fois peintre et sculpteur « à l’aiguille », je concentre mes recherches textiles autour de l’expérimentation visuelle et tactile, en utilisant les points traditionnels de broderie à l’aiguille mais aussi en élaborant des techniques plus contemporaines. Mon thème de prédilection évoque un monde onirique, où les règnes végétal et animal s’entremêlent, s’hybrident et se confondent. L’utilisation récurrente dans mes créations d’éléments naturels (graines, mousses, os, insectes, mues…) et autant d’éléments insolites tendent à détourner la broderie afin de semer le trouble entre le vrai et le faux; le réel et la chimère. Au travers d’un regard profondément inspiré par la nature, j’analyse et dissèque les éléments afin de réaliser avec une grande finesse de détail un extraordinaire microcosme textile. En travaillant sur les analogies que le végétal peut avoir avec certains insectes ou animaux, du monde terrestre ou aquatique, j’essaie de rendre ce végétal étrange et fantastique. Dans l’exploration d’une nature rêvée, outre l’aspect inquiétant de mes utopies végétales, j’essaie de souligner leur côté magique, toujours un peu fantastique. De permutations en hybridations, du réel à l’illusoire, je tente par mes créations d’amener le spectateur à apprécier toute la complexité du monde végétal et à le méduser devant sa beauté. Au cœur de mon univers : le rêve, cette profondeur peuplée de symboles et nichée au plus intime; peut-être notre part d’humanité la plus secrète et qui sait, la plus libre.
