Erwin Poell: Naturwissenschaft + Technik
Erwin Poell (1930) is a German graphic designer. From 1951 he studied with Walter Brudi at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. In 1953 he was production manager and book designer at Keyser Verlag. In 1955 he started his own business, initially in Mannheim, since 1962 in Heidelberg. As art director of the publishing houses Ullstein and Propylaea he created covers for many bestselling titles. For the German Federal Post Office, he designed more than 30 years of postage stamps. Another focus of his work was the science magazines »naturwissenschaft+technik" and "Mannheim Forum". Erwin Poell received more than 80 national and international prizes and awards.
