Kochi Biennale 2014

Founder: Sugita Gupta

The Kochi Biennale draws the attention of the international art world to Kochi, the largest city in the Indian state of Kerala. Titled "Whorled Explorations", the second edition of the artist-curated Kochi-Muziris Biennale was curated by Jitish Kallat and gathered 94 artists from India and around the world to contemplate and comment on globalization in the context of this city of the spice trade, of science and of literature. Julian Charriere's 'We Are All Astronauts' installed at Durbar Hall, Ernakulam. The artist has used thirteen found globes made of glass, plastic, paper and wood. Steel base with MDF board; dust from globes surface and international mineral sandpaper.
