Daniel was born in Kraków and studied at the School of Artistic Crafts in Kraków. Between 1951 and 1978, Daniel worked for the magazine "Przekrój" and as a theater designer. Daniel Mróz is best known for illustrating books by writers such as Stanislav Lem, Franz Kafka, Jules Verne, Jerzy Szaniawski, Jan Stoberski, Ludwik Jerzy Kern, and Stanislaw Jerzy Lec.
