Can a fake material be authentic? The property of authenticity is almost always seen as something positive, as an object is then neither artificial nor false. By experimenting with the production process and considering the purpose of imitation materials, I attempt to investigate our relationship to both material and craft. Can an obviously artificial material become authentic thanks to an artisan production method?
