Isabelle Chapuis and Alexis Pichot: We read in the smoke, as we guess in the clouds, forms of the imagination; ghostly presence that has been or will be: everyone is free to see what they like.

Isabelle Chapuis: Diplômée, depuis 2005, de l’ESAG-Penninghen en arts graphiques, je voulais conforter mes études par des expériences vraiment personnelles. Deux années durant, plusieurs séjours d’immersion en Asie et au Moyen-Orient m’ont permis de me frotter à d’autres réalités. Parallèlement, ma démarche créative m’a conduite vers la photographie que j’exerce en indépendant, combinant l´art et la mode. Parvenir à conjuguer l’un avec l’autre oriente mon regard.

Alexis Pichot: After more than 10 years as an interior designer, I am developing for several years a personal artistic project through the photographic art of light painting. The art of light painting consists during a long time exposure in a dark environment, to create an artistic universe of lights giving life to static elements. These light effects obtained are performed in real time, during a single shot, without editing on a computer. My inspiration is rooted in our everyday world, especially playing with the architecture. During night rides, I let my imagination go, reinterpreting objects, shapes and creates the outlines of a new story at the same time poetic and unexpected. Give life to the still, through the various light sources is the origin of my artistic process.
