The website of the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture was online since 1996 and the first government website in Europe. In 2000, Mario Gagliardi Design redesigned it. To take account of the technological restrictions existing at the time, the site did not feature images to keep the download time low. All graphics and dynamic animations have been coded with small Javascript files.
