Zanini de Zanine was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1978, grewing up watching his father, José Zanine Caldas, work. He trained with Sergio Rodrigues and in 2002 graduated from PUC-Rio. In 2003, he began producing furniture in solid wood - "Contemporary Carpentry". In 2005 he started with a new line of furniture with materials such as plastic, acrylate, metal and other industrial materials. In 2011, he founded Studio Zanini. He received top honors in Brazil and exhibited in major national and international events. His clients include Tolix, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, Slamp and Espasso. Zanini de Zanine was named Designer of the Year by Maison & Objet Americas 2015.

Nasceu no Rio de Janeiro em 1978 e cresceu vendo o pai, José Zanine Caldas, trabalhar. Estagiou com Sergio Rodrigues, quando produziu seu primeiro móvel. Em 2002 graduou-se em Desenho Industrial pela PUC-Rio. A partir de 2003, começou a produzir móveis em madeira maciça, com peças de demolição – colunas, vigas e mourões de casas antigas – batizadas como “Carpintaria Contemporânea”. A partir de 2005, começa a criar uma nova linha de móveis com peças produzidas industrialmente, usando além de madeira com origem controlada, materiais diversos como plástico, metacrilato, metais e partes de outros produtos industrializados. Para representar os móveis dessa nova linha, Zanini cria em 2011 o Studio Zanini. Recebeu os mais importantes prêmios de Design do Brasil e fora pelos móveis que criou nos dois segmentos e expôs nos principais eventos nacionais e internacionais da área. Hoje assina peças para grandes marcas nacionais e internacionais como a francesa Tolix, as italianas Cappellini, Slamp e Poltrona Frau, e a americana Espasso. Nomeado Designer do Ano pela Maison & Objet Americas 2015.
