Thomas Struth´s work shows us highly complex equipment, structures and constructions. His pictures illustrate human attempts to beat natural reality by means of artificial worlds. They raise the question of how power and lust for power are articulated in objects to gain political advantage. His images address the creation, interpretation and reinterpretation of reality, of memories and experiences.

Thomas Struth (born 1954) is one of the contemporary artists who have moved the medium photography to a new intensity. He studied at the Dusseldorf Art Academy, first painting with Gerhard Richter, and then photography with Bernd and Hilla Becher.
