I start to make it in 2000, the year in which the future has passed, at the request of Adriano Mei Gentilucci, of the "l'Affiche" gallery , with the collaboration of Cristina Piccioli, my Italian agent, they are both still supporting me.
The making of it is a peasant thing: I collect the fruits of what I "sowed" during the year, the ones that seem most promising to me, and I show them, I take them to the market, I would say, if the word had not become so hateful. It is also a way of understanding whether the vintage was good and it is a way of defending oneself from the passage of time, abandoning the linear one for the cyclical one, which can be better tolerated.
Then, for me, it is a kind of diary, which remains at hand after so many years; a map of the paths traveled, which can give some indication of which ones to follow; a remote conversation in a language that does not need translations and high technologies.
The circulation is close to three thousand copies, the print is by Jona Graphic Arts, Fedrigoni helps me in part with his splendid paper.
