Antonio Rubino

Antonio Rubino: Pittore, illustratore e scrittore (Sanremo 1880 - Baiardo 1964). Legato all´art nouveau, rinnovò l´illustrazione e la letteratura per l´infanzia in Italia, immettendovi una carica di irriverente fantasia e cogliendo nel mondo infantile il gusto per la negazione dei ruoli e la disponibilità all´imprevisto. Fu tra i fondatori (1908) del Corriere dei piccoli, per il quale disegnò la testata e molti bizzarri personaggi (Quadratino, Kikì pappagallo di Kilì, Pierino e il burattino, Lillo e Lalla, ecc.). Scrisse e illustrò numerosi volumi, tra i quali: Versi e disegni (1911); Viperetta (1919); Tic e tac (1919), Il frottoliere (1929); Fiabe quasi vere (1936).
