Yang Yongliang was born in Shanghai. He was taught Chinese traditional painting, calligraphy and other art forms for ten years by Yang Yang, a professor at Hong Kong Chinese University. He studied at the Shanghai Fine Art Institute, the Shanghai Arts & Crafts Vocational College, and the China Fine Art Academy Institute. He works include ink paintings, photography and video art. Yang Yongliang lives and works in Shanghai.
