The illustrations of the Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi are Mussino´s most famous work. Mussino lived in Vernante in the Piemont. The town has become "il paese dello zio di Pinocchio," the town of the Uncle of Pinocchio. In 1989, two townspeople started to paint murals based on Mussino´s work, transforming the walls of houses into an outdoor memorial to the work of master Mussino.
