Photographer Mathieu Missiaen is interested in the ways in which people will identify the reality of a picture; how an image can be seen or understood. He considers the modern question of having to distinguish between real images and CGI as the differentiation becomes increasingly challenging. He thematically shoots colors with the aim of molecular perception, getting as close as possible to the atomical makeup of his subject because ‘at any scale, a color is a color.’ Matthieu Missiaen is based in Paris.
