Gianfranco Pardi

Born in Milan in 1933, Gianfranco Pardi started studying poetry and philosophy, dedicating himself to architecture later. During the sixties, he developed a personal style integrating design, painting, sculpture and architecture. In 1967 he begins a collaboration with Studio Marconi in Milan, and the artist is dedicated to the creation of works that are a reinterpretation of the historical avant-garde including Abstractionism, Suprematism, Constructivism and Neoplasticism. In 1986, Pardi has solo show at the Venice Biennale, the Milan Triennale and the Rome Quadrennial. In 1998, the Palazzo Reale in Milan shows a personal of his works, and in 1999 he has a number of important exhibitions in Germany - in Frankfurt, Bochum and Stralsund . An independent artist, unfettered by schools and currents, Pardi died in Milan on February 2, 2012 .

Nato a Milano nel 1933, Gianfranco Pardi si dedica a studi che partono dalla poesia e dalla filosofia, indirizzandosi solo in seguito verso l’architettura. Durante gli anni Sessanta elabora uno stile in cui si integrano disegno, pittura, scultura e architettura, caratteristica che contraddistingue il suo percorso artistico. Dal 1967 ha inizio la collaborazione con lo Studio Marconi di Milano e l'artista si dedica alla realizzazione di opere che sono una rilettura delle avanguardie storiche come l'Astrattismo, il Suprematismo, il Costruttivismo e il Neoplasticismo. È il 1986 l'anno della consacrazione, quando Pardi partecipa con una personale alla Biennale di Venezia, alla Triennale di Milano e alla Quadriennale di Roma. Nel 1998 Palazzo Reale a Milano ospita una sua personale, mentre nel 1999 vengono organizzate una serie di importanti mostre in Germania a Francoforte Bochum e Stralsund. Artista indipendente e fuori dal coro, estraneo a scuole e correnti, Pardi muore a Milano il 2 febbraio del 2012.
