What is it about fire?
So attractive, So lovely, desirable, reaching into an ancient and deeply intense place within us.
Fire, seen as a symbol of enlightenment and safety from darkness
A beast to be tamed as we needed.
It was a gift from somewhere we could not visit.
In Ancient Greek myths surround the Phoenix, a bird that cyclically regenerated through fire.
The Phoenix obtained its new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor, and the ashes of its old life finding new life and reasons to live.
This raises the question, When reborn, is the new a better version of the old?
or the old habits re-inhabited?
old evils revealed and strengthened?
old desires re-kindled?
Is all created new in the regeneration of life?
Especially when science shows that when burnt, the burnt material is affected by a process that spontaneously changes the chemical composition, resulting in a different material being created.
Fire, is Perpetual Motion,
Fire’s real beauty is that it destroys responsibility and consequences.
Leaving nothing behind of value,
Ashes, smoke, pain and disfigurement.
If you can arise from this, can you leave behind the former and embrace the new, or will the clash of selves shatter the illusions surrounding the creation?
