Thomas Broome studied at Valands Art Academy, Gothenburg, the University of Gothenburg and at Konstfack in Stockholm. In his work, he uses repetition as a recurring technique. The repetition becomes a mantra designed to create needs and arouse desires so strong that they overshadow existential issues of far greater importance. In his series Modern Mantra we face interiors constructed with words. Broomés imagery shows how advertisement functions in the same manner as a constructed epidemic; if a sufficient number of people repeat a logo or a brand, it finally becomes a confirmed truth.
