The European region around Antwerp is a hotbed of graphic design talent. Here is a giant selection of contemporary sketches and illustrations by brilliant young artists: Jango Jim, Antwerp, Belgium; Mayken Craenen, Antwerp, Belgium; Charlotte Dumortier, Antwerp, Belgium; Wide Vercnocke, Leuven, Belgium; Jos Verwer, Dinteloord, The Netherlands.
Mayken Craenen: a passionate hunter/collector, always on the lookout for pretty pixels, small songs, hidden corners, and remarkable fragments. a bit of everything, since I refuse to choose between illustrating, collaging, photographing, painting, observing, designing, writing, sewing and curating.
Jango Jim:I like coffee & tea, cookies, world food, raspberries, photography, 50´s B-Movies (and their posters ), toy robots, 20´s jazz music, machines & old cities, freak shows, old museums, full-time daydreaming, the sound of crisps when you eat them and a lot more. I draw because it´s fun and if I can make you smile, laugh or provide some eye-candy then I´m a very happy man.
Charlotte Dumortier: I´m a freelance illustrator & graphic designer. I also make comics. I graduated from Sint-Lukas with a master degree in 2011. Since then, my first comic, "Murphy´s Miserable Space Adventures" , got published & I worked as a freelancer on projects ranging from illustration to motion design.
