Janine Abraham & Dirk Jan Rol
& collect
Janine Abraham took classes at the Ecole Camondo, trained at Jean-René and Maxime Old Caillette, and worked for Robert Vecchione. She then worked in the studio of Jacques Dumond, where she met Dirk Jan Rol in 1955. They created their own firm in 1957, designing furniture in rattan, wood and metal. Dirk Jan Rol went on to focus more intensively on architecture, and created unique sculptural structures which integrate interior space and nature. In the flat for architect Ionel Schein, some walls seem molded on the body.
