In this installation by Kram/Weishaar for Nilufar Gallery, tubes and connecting joints are 3D printed with Selective Laser Melting (SLM). These are then handed to a team of craftsmen who join the parts together and apply colours to the frame. Clemens Weisshaar was born in 1977 in Munich. After an apprenticeship as a metal worker he studied product design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and the Royal College of Art in London. Reed Kram was born in 1971 in Columbus. Kram holds a Bachelor of Science from Duke University and Masters of Arts and Sciences from the MIT School of Architecture and Planning. In 1998 Kram won the Fulbright Fellowship for Art and Design for the Netherlands and founded his first office for design in 1999.
