Furniture made from wood from salvaged Indonesian fishing vessels: "we try to use recycled materials wherever possible. all our new materials are purchased through the correct chain of custody, meaning the material is purchased from a registered land owner. we believe in our staff and encourage the development of their craft - supporting them, their families and interacting with them as our peers. since the launch of our business we have continued to support an organisation that gives back to local communities through education. an organisation that creates assets for these communities and initiates the planting of trees throughout the island of java, indonesia. trees4trees does this and we support them."
mindi has oak like qualities with a beautiful open grain. this wood is responsibly sourced through the correct chain of custody. we also contribute to trees4trees who support registered land owners to re plant trees through out java, indonesia.
the raft coffee table is made from hardwood planks reclaimed from old fishing boats. these planks generally form the exterior shell of the hull. the remaining paint work is totally original. these planks actually appear black until we scrub them back to reveal the stunning colored patina that remains. the holes throughout are a reminder of where the wood has come from and create a beautifully eclectic feel.
the top of this kitchen table is made of reclaimed teak, and the bottom a reclaimed hardwood has been used. all materials are salvaged from shipping vessels abandoned in the Java Sea. we love the thought of this table for everyday use in the kitchen and hope that the brightly painted base will help to brighten up your day. this is a place for a casual chat with friends, late nights playing cards, and everyday usage for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
here we are working with cold rolled steel rod along with steel plate. the side tables have been finished with carefully selected wood portions reclaimed from fishing vessels. the finish is a natural water-base finish that has been sanded beautifully and fine to create a beautiful touch. the rod has been threaded to fit adjustable feet
the wood used in these bar stools is salvaged from old fishing vessels found along coastline of the java sea. the wood has been stripped back to it’s original form leaving beautiful markings from the bolts used to hold these shipping vessels together. this is a combination of two hardwoods that have been used throughout history to build boats in this region
