House No 33 by Uemori Masaaki and Uemori Kokutou: A fantastic example on how contemporary architecture can bridge past and future, tradition and modernity. Designed with respect to the site and its history, this house demonstrates how much can be achieved with the considered use of materials and spatial arrangement. The slight elevation of the house on a concrete foundation provides for better views and at the same time safety in the event of flooding.
