Vasa Mihich studied at the Academy of Applied Arts, University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Mihich has lived in Los Angeles since his arrival in the United States in 1960. He was Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. His work is in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C.; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Musees Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique, Art Moderne, Brussels; San Diego Museum of Art; Philips Collection, Washington, D.C.; Wilhelm Lehmbrech Museum, Duisberg, Germany; UCLA Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts, Los Angeles.
