Koichi Futatsuma was born in Kagoshima, Japan. After graduating from the Department of Engineering and Architecture at Kyushu Industrial University, Futatsumata set up the design unit "CASE-REAL". In 2013, Futatsumata started "KOICHI FUTATSUMATA STUDIO" in Fukuoka to develop his product design practice. In 2011 his work "22 (EK Japan/hybrid tube amplifier)" was added to the permanent collection at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
